Neptune in Aries overview and house by house impacts
March Eclipse season is still hovering in the air when we’re swept up into the next major energetic shift of 2025 – Neptune entering Aries. It’s here from 30 March - 23 October 2025, then it dips back into Pisces before returning to Aries in January 2026 where it will stay for the next 14 years.
So 2025 is an 8 month preview of this long term energetic shift - what can we expect? Neptune is our dreams and idealism. Our spirituality and psychic connections. It shows what mesmerises us, what glamours us, and where we like to escape. The fact that it’s so hard to describe is kind of its best descriptor. It dissolves, confuses, and magics us.
Since 2011 it’s been in Pisces - a sign it rules and shares many qualities with. But now it’s moving into Aries, the sign of the warrior. How on earth will this subtle force cope with Arian qualities of independence, assertion, courage, initiation, force and combat?
Neptune in Aries could manifest in many ways…
Climate shifts - watery energy may dry out - let’s hope for a reprieve from recent floods and wet weather events.
Idealistic fights. Neptune is our dreams and ideals, and in Aries we may start to want to FIGHT for those ideals. The last Neptune in Aries period began in 1861, and a day later the American Civil War began between two sides over the right to keep people enslaved.
Charismatic leaders. Aries can represent leaders. Neptune’s arrival brings the need for charismatic leaders who can guide us, glamour us (and potentially deceive us). People may like to ‘follow’. Seems very Trumpian. Watch out for other ‘saviour’ type people in all areas of life. Religious leaders, cult leaders, oligarchs - all of them may be strengthened under this influence.
Pop culture shifts. Neptune is the ‘vibe’ part of fashion, storytelling and music. Expect fashion shifts away from Pisces grey/metallics to strong Aries colours such as red and orange, and the return of combat wear.
Spirituality may shift. There’s been 14 years of meditation, sound healing, yoga and astrology. Expect this to wane as we seek more action-based worship practices. Less ‘feel’ and more ‘do’. Astrologers have been popular in recent years, but we’re expecting this to pass as people seek more immediate spiritual pathways. But I’ll still be here if you need me.
Screen addiction. Neptune rules addictions and we’ve spent the entire Neptune in Pisces era increasingly escaping into our seductive little screens. We’re now starting to fully understand the magnitude of screen addiction and what happens when we lose touch with the real world. I’m really hoping that we have less patience for these fake worlds that infiltrate our mental health and dissolve our real lives.
Personal impacts. People with Aries placements may feel muddled in coming years. As Neptune passes over planets in our charts, we can feel as though this aspect of ourself is dissolving. The usually strong, resilient Aries placements may become uncertain, misdirected or weakened as self doubt and compassion for others infiltrates our beings. This isn’t all bad, but it’s confusing. And tiring.
The last Neptune in Aries era was 1861-1875 - the period when it was normal to sail on steam liners, and catch steam trains. Which reminds us that heat and ether together can be incredibly useful when channelled well. But steam can be an errant force, capable of causing horrific burns.
House by house impacts…
All of us will feel this shift fairly immediately in your house that has Aries on the cusp. Topics of that house may become more confused and hard to define. You may not be seeing reality with those topics, or it’s easier for you to be fooled. You may feel more compassionate, loving and charitable in that area. Idealism and dreams of ‘what could be’ may show up too. Which is all helpful - whoever launched into anything awesome that didn’t start as a pipe dream? Saturn is coming through this part of the Zodiac in a couple of months time, and it’s the manifesting planet. So dream big now, and be inspired for what you can do in the future.
Neptune in the houses:
1st house: Spirituality may become more important as inspiration seeps into your whole personality. But you may also be a bit more confused about your identity and what your direction is. Be kind to your new forgetful self - write lists and use charades to express yourself if words become elusive.
2nd house: Money and income may become unstable - be especially careful for scams - you’re more trusting than usual in this area. Generally money may slip through your fingers. It’s a great time to earn money from ‘Neptunian’ jobs such as healing, reiki, photography, film-making and art.
3rd house: Siblings may become unreliable as they bring Neptunian stories to life - watch for addictions and dodgy stories. It’s a good time to take short courses in Neptunian interest areas - photography, spirituality, water sports. It’s a great time to spend time in watery places - the pool, a sailing or surf club.
4th house: In the house of real estate, this can be quite literal - a move to a watery location, or water inundation in your home. Check your pipes for leaks! More generally it can be confusion with where you want to live, or issues with parents - perhaps addiction or dementia-type issues. The 4th house ties us to ancestry, so spiritual links to your past may emerge.
5th house: Fun, romance and pleasure may be highly desirable over coming years. Your artistic skills may feel more inspired - it’s a great time for diving into an ambitious creative project. Lovers may not be everything you imagine - seek realistic views from friends to filter out the chumps. Kids may leave home, or dive into Neptunian interests of their own.
6th house: Previous daily health routines may dwindle as Neptune defuses motivation. Swimming and water activities will work well. It’s important to channel the energy daily, rather than let it well up and trigger health issues. Doctors may struggle to diagnose ailments as symptoms fluctuate.
7th house: Marriage and partnership is in the spotlight. Perhaps a partner becomes elusive, either through too much work, addiction, gambling or lies. It’s common to want to ‘save’ a partner with this placement - be realistic about what you can and can’t achieve. Spiritual activities can bond partnerships - seek out tantra, retreats etc.
8th house: Watch your finances under this influence - this is your house of investments and money controlled by others. Spiritual and self-help topics could take a deeper turn - past life regression and psychotherapy are two ways to explore the energy. At some stage in the next 16 years you may experience a significant loss of a loved one. Strong spiritual beliefs will help you cope and keep perspective.
9th house: Faith and religion may become more important to you. You’re dreaming of greener pastures, perhaps overseas. Foreign cultures lure you and you may start adopting habits and aesthetics from them. It’s great for overseas spiritual and creative journeys. Higher learning may appeal, but you may struggle to find the commitment needed to finish studies.
10th house: Career and reputation get a Neptunian makeover - perhaps you shift into goals that are more aligned with your spiritual centre, or you dream big about what you can achieve. Scandals are hard to hide in coming years, and people may be fascinated by you in some way. Perfect for big career goals in fashion, film and alternative therapies.
11th house: Friendships may fade and shift in coming years as you lose connection to people you once valued. There can be some grief around this. Put spare time into community groups that match your ideals. Join a meditation group, a band or advocacy group that will connect you to others on a deeper, more humane level.
12th house: Spirituality becomes important. You may feel like taking a more solo path of exploration - retreating and tapping back into your soul centre. Expect some moments of loneliness as you reassess the structure of your life. It’s beautiful energy for connecting to others via charity and empathy. Give back to those less fortunate to remember the blessings in your own world.
